Paragraph 1
The objective key concept of the lesson is to get a better understanding of denotations and connotations. Also, to understand the literal meaning of something or a feeling/idea that is suggested by a word. Semiotics is the study of signs, symbols and signification. Roland Barthes was influential French philosopher and literary critic. His theory was that anything in culture can be a sign and send a specific message. 
Paragraph 2
For example, media, fashion, art, photography, architecture and literature. Key terms of denotation are indication or meaning. This means the literal meaning of something. For connotations it's the meaning, significance or association. Connotation is something suggested by a word or meaning. Lastly, for signs is signal, memo or clue. Signs means a clue something happened. 
Reflection
The objective of the activity is finding the meaning of things and what they symbolize and analyzing the film. Ex. the audience, setting, acting, mood furthermore. We watched a clip of the movie "The Hunger Games", analyzed it and drew a table. I worked on this assignment with Latrisha Paul. What I learned from this exercise is how the elements of action come together and I got a better understanding on how to analyze a film.
