Introduction Paragraph
Genre in film is the categories in which we put media texts. Genre is significant to audiences when viewing a film because when the audience knows the genre, they know what to expect. Not knowing a genre in a movie can be very confusing to the audience. Additionally, audience likes film based on the genre. 3 film genre that I'm interested in is, thriller, it's interpreted by a variety of sub-genres. Such as, science fiction and crime. Comedy horror, a literary and film genre that ties comedy and horror together. Lastly, drama, it's a style fiction that's represented in writing, screen plays, books, poetry writing and etc. I'm interested in these genres because I enjoy them more than any other genre.
Paragraph 2
The media text that was being created was a bubble diagram. It's engaging our audience because were using mise en scene codes. The directions of the assignment were to pair up with a partner and create a bubble diagram to demonstrate mise en scene codes, and pick a genre from: Highschool drama, horror, Sci-fiction, Comedy, Crime and action. What I learned while doing this assignment was how mise en scene codes, genres and conventions simultaneously come together to generate meaning to audiences. I worked with a classmate; we watched videos to complete the assignment.
