Preliminary Exercise: Camera Angles Week 11/28-12/02

First Paragraph

Starting off, Camera angles spots a certain location at which the camera or video camera is position to take a shot. Scenes could possibly be shot from various camera angles all together. This creates experiences and even emotions.

Second Paragraph

Camera angles has several different elements. Such as, a knee level shot is when the camera is low as the character/actor knees. Using a knee level shot can show a vast amount of dominance, especially paired with a low angle. The purpose of this is highlighting the character and the significance in the scene. It could even grab the attention on a character walk, creeping or even sneaking.

Third Paragraph

Hip level shot AKA "Cowboy shot" is when the camera is placed waist high. This is most useful in cowboy movies and where it gets its name. It is very useful when action is happening near the hip. Such as, showing a weapon or even when someone is reaching into their pockets. This shot is often paired with either a gun, holster, or even an antagonist in the rear view. Also, it's resourceful when characters aren't at the same level.
