Introduction to color in film (pt.3) Week 10/31-11/04

  This slide is the secondary color: purple. Purple can symbolize something or someone wise, imaginative. powerful or even calm. In this slide, it can represent something calm/ peaceful. In the scene Black Panther (Tchalla) took a potion that reunited him back with his late father. Also, the theme of the film is Sci-Fi and Action. Reflection In this scene, the dominant color was purple. Purple can signify wise, imaginative and power. We as the audience, can infer that in the scene there's a peaceful moment happening.

Introduction to color in film (preliminary exercise) Week 10/24-28

Introduction Paragraph The objective of the lesson is learning how significant color is in film. For Instance, it can give details about characters and settings. In addition, co lor is significant to a film audience because it helps build a better understanding of the mood/feelings in a scene. Or even situations. Three characters of film is hue, brightness and saturation. Lastly, the director is responsible for color in film. 2nd Paragraph  The goal of the preliminary exercise is to recognize the importance of color in film. The I'm creating is a PowerPoint of the color wheel. Adding on, I used PowerPoint to create my media product. For this assignment, I worked by myself. Reflection Paragraph  What I learned is how color helps in film. For Instance, color can set the mood in a film and can create emotions. The strategies I used was researching and viewing movie films.

Introduction to color in film (pt.2) Week 10/24-10/28

This PowerPoint is the primary color is red. Red can symbolize something powerful, danger, intense or even horror. In this slide, the characters in the picture, represent something powerful. Since there the villains, the movie is Us. Also, the theme of the movie was horror, it was released in 2019.  Second Paragraph In this scene, the dominant color was red. Red can symbolize power, danger, intensely or even horror. In this case, these people were the villains. This can signify that an attack is coming or even something bad is bound to happen in the movie. Reflection  During this, we created a PowerPoint. In this particular slide, we analyzed the setting. In this setting, there was characters. Which was the villains. This lesson was very effective.

  Introduction Paragraph  Setting in film is the time and place where the story is told. Setting incorporates time period, location, climate and overall attitude. The motive of setting is creating a mood or specifying the time or place in a film. Key characteristics of film is  art: the overall look of a film that's determined by the director. Entertainment: being provided/providing with amusement or pleasure. Lastly, body language: the way an actor is controlling their bodies through gestures, posture and body contact. Lastly, setting is important to mise en scene because it's easily spotted out and recognizable for what the director is implying.  Introduction paragraph The name of the video is: what is mise en scene? - How Directions Stanley Kubrick the Elements of Visual Storytelling.  Mise en scene is the placement of actors and scenery on a stage for a theatrical  film or tv production.   It's important because it can help being a sense of the overall mood, sense of character or place. The elements of Mise en scene is sound, frame rate, music, lenses, framing, blocking, lighting, color, makeup, costumes, set design and props.  Second paragraph Lastly, 3 things i took away from the video is that all these elements, play their own part in the overall meaning of a shot. There're 2 basic traditions in mise en scene, Naturalistic and Theatrical. With naturalistic, it gives the audience a sense of the natural world. In addition, it's meant to match our world. Introduction Paragraph Genre in film is the categories in which we put media texts. Genre is significant to audiences when viewing a film because when the audience knows the genre, they know what to expect. Not knowing a genre in a movie can be very confusing to the audience. Additionally, audience likes film based on the genre. 3 film genre that I'm interested in is, thriller, it's interpreted by a variety of sub-genres. Such as, science fiction and crime. Comedy horror, a literary and film genre that ties comedy and horror together. Lastly, drama, it's a style fiction that's represented in writing, screen plays, books, poetry writing and etc. I'm interested in these genres because I enjoy them more than any other genre.  Paragraph 2 The media text that was being created was a bubble diagram.
